The page of political links. Some are useful, some are not.

Commies and Other Radicals Radicals want to overthrow the existing order and impose a new Utopian social scheme for living. The extreme left is shrill and irritating. See if any of these links irritate you:
  • Despite the spectacular failure of communism in the 20th century, commies still exist. Get the strangely unrepentant point of view of the Communist Party USA.
  • The International Committee of the Fourth International publishes the World Socialist Web Site.
  • The Village Voice is probably America's best-known leftie newspaper. It's really shrill.
Liberals Liberal ideology is often characterized by using government as a tool to deal with social problems. A lot of their ideas get downright wacky, but that's why we've got conservatives to help find the worthwhile ideas.
  • Working for Change, a collection of liberal opinion columns.
  • AlterNet, a site big on human rights, drug liberalization, and the environment.
  • The blog of Uggabugga, the ultimate diagrammer.
Reports from the Mushy Middle Trying to evaluate things fairly is an unrewarding task. For example, news organizations have a hard time pleasing anyone in the United States. And any scientific issue which gets politicized, like climate change, is doomed to partisan attacks from the beginning.
Conservatives Traditional conservative ideology is usually characterized by the desire to keep government as small as possible and preserve the status quo. Sometimes this keeps them from adopting government solutions which might work, but liberals keep those ideas in play.
  • The website of the Democratic National Committee, the more left-leaning of America's two major parties. Prior to the Clinton administration they were better characterized as liberals.
  • Bob Dole is one of the last of the great Republicans.
  • Senator John McCain of Arizona, who should have been president.
  • Arianna Online, the website of populist conservative Arianna Huffington.
Fascists and Other Reactionaries Reactionaries are extremist conservatives who seek to impose a revolutionary change to take us back to a mythical golden age (often 19th-century America). The extreme right wing is angry, militant, and in power. If you want to see some really mean-spirited Americans, look no further:
