Before tiling, I need to put some mortar over the seams in the walls. This strengthens the walls, and binds things together a bit.

I actually like the texture it left on the walls, so I did the whole wall. That way, all I need to do is paint it should I decide to forego the whole-wall tile thing.
Let's pause for a moment. Or two or three. Or even a few months worth of moments.
Finance Comittee (aka "wife"): Don't buy anything for the bathroom. We have no money this month.
Me: Ok.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Me: You know, we really need to finish that bathroom.
FC: Yeah. Ok, go spend money.
Me: WOOHOO!

I hate that popcorn ceiling texture. HATE HATE HATE. It must go. Let's scrape it all off before tiling, so that I don't have to worry about the mess.

And let's texture and paint it.
